Job Title: Supermarket Procurement Manager

Salary: 120K – 180K grossOur Client is Retail Company that supplies to small shops and distributors
in the estates and major towns.
They seek to hire a procurement manager who will source for products and review existing items to ensure products remain competitive, maximize profits and provide a commercially viable range of merchandise at competitive prices.
Keeping up to date with market trends and reacting to changes in demand.
Ideal candidate should be from a retail (preferably supermarket) background.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop the procurement strategy for the Services Region, develop the supplier base, and maximize cost out on assigned commodities using negotiation, E-Auctions, re-designs, and sub-tier component cost reductions.
  • Champion a strategic sourcing process that will reduce total cost
  • Identify sourcing best practices in the catalogue, retail and other functions within the organization.
  • Evaluates and leads in the eSourcing tools
  • Develops and maintains awareness of changing commodity-related business trends in the marketplace and the possible impact
  • Monitoring and tracking vendor performance through periodic financial reviews, product performance, customer satisfaction surveys, and customer outreach
  • Design and execute the strategic sourcing initiatives, including market analysis, strategy development, management of requests for proposal, and supplier negotiations.
  • Coordinate overall data collection and bid processes, including determination of comparison of services and products offered from a sourcing perspective.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers ensuring they meet quality and service requirements.
  • Develops and executes negotiation strategy; responsible for driving final contract negotiations and implementation while ensuring appropriate levels of management engagement and approval.
  • Consistently deliver measurable and strategic goals to enable a competitive advantage to bottom-line and top-line company growth, and corporate social responsibility leadership.
  • Employ strong knowledge of key global industry players, competitors and market dynamics.
  • Develops models to evaluate how commodities impact total cost in the extended supply chain.
Qualifications
  • Degree in procurement and Supply Chain management or any related field
  • Over 6 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management
  • Should be preferably from a retail set up like a supermarket, beauty shops, clothing stores etc
  • Must have experience in purchasing, Commodity, Cost Management, Direct Buying, Performance Metrics, Inventory Management, Managing Cross Functional Teams, Project Management, Supply Chain Management experience
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills
  • Experience working with international suppliers preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills, ability to collect facts and make independent decisions
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Must have trend analysis and recognition, buying, sourcing merchandising, consumer marketing/research skills
  • Passionate, self-confident individual that is professional and result driven
  • Strong integrity and ability to work within a team
  • Able to work independently within set parameters
