ISF is now looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following vacancy:

Monitoring Officer

Duty Station: Kisii, Kenya

Supervisor: ISF Somaliland / Kenya Country Coordinator

Type of Contract: temporary, until December 31st 2015

Duties
  • Ensuring that the ISF projects implemented in Nyanza Province are carried out according to ISF norms and criteria (as stipulated in the ISF Development Cooperation Program and ISF Program Manual and guided by the ISF Country Coordinator)
  • Facilitating the ISF partner organizations in Nyanza Province in order to ensure that the partner organisations submit their quarterly activity plans, budgets, activity reports and accounts within the time frame stated in the cooperation agreements, ISF Program Manual and Financial Guidelines
  • Verifying that the contents of the ISF Nyanza Province partner organizations’ quarterly budgets correspond to the quarterly activity plans, the quarterly accounts correspond to the quarterly activity reports and annual budgets correspond to the contents of the annual activity plans
  • Assisting the auditors to audit the ISF partner organizations’ accounts in Nyanza Province
  • Facilitating the partner organizations in Nyanza Province to produce the projects’ annual reports
  • Facilitating the external evaluations and external visits in carried out in Kisii and Nyamyra
  • Preparing ISF Kisii Office’s quarterly activity plans and budgets, activity reports and accounts to the approval of the ISF Country Coordinator
  • Monitoring the project beneficiary groups in Nyanza Province
  • Providing regular feedback to the ISF Country Coordinator and the ISF partner organizations on projects’ strategies and activities
  • Reporting to the ISF Country Coordinator on the social, political and security situation in Nyanza Province
  • Networking with the relevant ISF stakeholders present in Kisii
  • Any other tasks assigned by ISF
Requirements:
  • Tertiary level education (institute or university degree) in development economics/project management/similar
  • At least five years of practical work experience in project monitoring/financial management
  • Understanding of the quality criteria of international development cooperation
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) and excellent spoken Kisii
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Excellent team working abilities
  • Meticulous approach to work
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Subscribing to ISF’s core values of solidarity, equality, justice and participation
