Systems Network & Security Administrator

1 Position
Reporting to Assistant Manager ICT, the selected candidate will be:
- Administering, configuring and ensuring Network Connectivity of all users and IT resources to the organizational network.
- Creating and maintaining documentation of Network infrastructure, resources, maintenance, operating and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ensuring proper backing up of organizational data.
- Ensuring all important data is included in the scheduled backups.
- Coordinating and strictly enforcing the implementation of data backup procedures.
- Performing routine backup restorations to verify backup is operational
- Modifying backup schedule as required to ensure all important data is fully backed up at all times.
- Administering Disaster Recovery Processes.
- Implementing Network Security measures to protect information, software and hardware
- Monitoring Network Access and Use.
- Ensuring Anti-virus software is up to date, and provide solutions in case of virus attacks.
- Providing monitoring and primary response and intervention for information technology related security incidents and violations.
- Researching and providing advice on emerging trends in the ICT industry and recommend new equipment and services for the Authority
- Implementing and documenting Network and Security Changes, checks, problems, incidents
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving user software, hardware issues, and replace defective components when necessary.
- Implementing and maintaining a master console to perform monitoring of Network and Computer systems critical functions.
- Proposing and implementing system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the systems managed by the Authority.
- Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Qualification:
Qualification:
- At least an upper second honours degree in Computer Science or IT related disciplines from a reputable institution.
- A recognized certification in network management and security will be preferred.
- Experience:
- 2 years’ experience managing computer networks in a reputable organization.
