Summary:

JOB PURPOSE: To coordinate the work of the Directors Office in facilitating research across the programme.The post will facilitate grant applications (working with finance, operations and the Director), institutional agreements, coordinate arrangements for scientific meetings and visitors and coordinate archiving.

REPORTING LINES:

The post holder functionally reports to the Program Director

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with scientists developing grant applications to obtain input from finance, provide budgeting input from finance
  • Maintaining accurate and updated information on grants held, permissions relating to them, and institutional agreements.
  • Planning and co-ordinating scientific meetings held in Kenya
  • Coordinating arrangements for visitors to the programme
  • Membership of a Data Governance Committee and a Scientific Coordinating Committee.
  • Provide input for developing proposals with surveillance requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Managerial Science or a related field. A Master’s degree or equivalent in related field, will be an added advantage.
  • Training and experience in project management including budgeting, planning, execution, delivery, quality assurance, proposal writing and reporting.
  • At least eight (8) years’ experience in a similar role within a busy office.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft applications.
