Finance Officer Job Responsibilities
- Implement finance and administrative systems for Making All Voices Count
- Process payments and correctly record entries in compliance with Hivos policies and procedures in PASTEL
- Preparing monthly bank reconciliations
- Maintaining cheque books, cheque lists, petty cash, for Making All Voices Count
- Ensuring payments are promptly remitted, received, processed and filed in an accessible manner
- Certifying that all payment requests are supported by all the required documents, accurately stated/costed and properly authorized
- Ensure all Hivos offices and consortium partners are submitting their monthly reports on time and process these
- Implement the financial administration of the Making All Voices Count programme budgets and expenditure such that:
- The Finance Manager and Director has access to the latest information on Making All Voices Count budget and expenditure;
- Figures are provided on time for planning, quarterly reports, semi annual reports and annual reports
- Problems in the financial proces are reported in good time
- Under supervision of the Finance Manager, supply information for the monthly budget-realisation reports and monthly and quarterly reports.
- Ensure that invoices and expenditure reports are sent to the HO. Subsequently hard copies to DFID
- Ensure all documents are filled and available for the audits
- Assess financial audited reports of grantees and advise Programme Officers accordingly.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline;
- Demonstrable technical proficiency in managing the tasks mentioned above;
- At least three years’ experience related to above listed responsibilities;
- Ability to take initiative, get things done fast and accurately
- Demonstrated high integrity with excellent references.
Expected Competencies for Finance Officer Kenyan Jobs
- Computer Literacy (PASTEL)
- Ability to liaise with different stakeholders in a multicultural setting
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
