Job Title: Actuary
Reports to: Secretary General
Terms of service: 3 years Renewable contract.
Job Purpose: The Actuary will be responsible for Advising the Union on risk management strategies
Key Accountabilities:
- The position holder will have the following accountabilities;
- Developing salary review models for negotiation with the employer
- Developing benefits and allowances review models for negotiation with the employer
- Researching, analyzing and computing data on inflation rates, consumer price indices, level of economic growth and other measures which are key in the review of terms and conditions of service
- Undertaking benchmarks on terms and conditions of service with other public sector organizations to determine trends in compensation
- Advising the Union on proposals made by the employer
- Preparing actuarial Reports for management decision making.
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in actuarial science, actuarial studies, economics, statistics, mathematics or in a related field from a recognized institution;
- Have served in the field of actuary or a related field for at least ten (10) years;
- Be registered with the relevant professional body;
- Attended a management course lasting not less than four weeks;
- Job Related Skills:
- Possess conceptual, analytical, research and report writing skills;
- Possess ICT skills including Microsoft Office, web design, social media and other relevant computer applications as a working tool.
- Be a team player;
- Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
