Position: IT Applications Manager

Location: London, Johannesburg, Nairobi

Salary: £45,489 per annum + benefits

As IT Applications Manager you will lead the Application governance team, taking responsibility for managing all aspects of in country applications development.
This will involve evaluating country needs and developing affordable, detailed strategies for applications (Core, Common and Local), Cloud (IAAS and SAAS) and integration as well as managing external vendors.
Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders you will ensure increased organisational effectiveness through identifying and delivering shared systems as well as system integration where appropriate.
You will provide expert knowledge and processes for the provision of development tools and techniques, deliver high calibre development standards and ensure they are adhered to.
Important will be the ability to develop a high performing team and build a culture of continuous improvement to ensure IT applications meet the needs of the organisation going forward.

You must possess a degree (or equivalent) in computer science or a related field.
ITIL Service Management and/or a formal project management qualification would also be desirable.
With a high standard of English, you must have strong technical skills including knowledge of software applications, systems and process analysis and process-oriented design.
Comfortable managing stakeholder relationships you will also be skilled at supplier relationship and contract management and have a good understanding of partnership and governance.
Experience of working with databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and Agile methodologies would be an advantage.
