Clarkson Insurance Brokers Ltd: We are an Insurance Broker who wishes to recruit for the following position in our Department.
Underwriting Executive - Broking Department
Ref: UE/BD/2015
Key Performance Areas
- Asses a risk according to like hood of a claim being made by weighing up a number of factors and asking for detailed information from prospective clients (policyholders).
- Determine if applications for insurance cover (risks) should be accepted and, if so, what the terms of that acceptance are.
- Examine documents to determine degree of risk from such factors as applicant financial standing and value and condition of properly.
- Request authorization for reinsurance of policy when risk is high.
- Decline excessive risks.
- Evaluate possibility of losses due to catastrophe or excessive insurance.
- Review company records to determine amount of insurance in force on single risk or group of closely related risks.
- Write to field representatives, and other personnel to obtain further information, quote rates, or explain company underwriting policies.
- Bachelor’s degree from recognized university,
- Diploma in Insurance (AIIK or CII),
- 4 years experience in general insurance business,
- Membership to IIK/CII is highly recommended,
- Certificate of proficiency.

- Customer service skills/knowledge
