We are pleased to announce the following vacancy within the Financial Services Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.
Reporting to the Senior Manager-M-PESA Product Management - the role holder will be responsible
for increasing M-PESA revenues by acquiring new customers and influencing usage from existing customers
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform needs analysis of M-PESA customers to identify propositions that deliver business unit objectives of revenue, retention and NPS.
- Identify, develop, and evaluate Go-to-market strategy, based on knowledge of previously established objectives and market characteristics.
- Work with the strategic marketing team to formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities to promote M-PESA products and services.
- Stimulate usage of M-PESA Value Added Services i.e. Paybill, Buy goods, M-Shwari, International Money Transfer by use of sales planning.
- Spearhead M-PESA market research studies and analyze their findings.
- Co-ordinate launch of new M-PESA products and services with the marketing team and ensure successful go-to-market for each product as well as ensure all launched products are properly documented.
- Work with the Strategic Marketing and Business Development teams, to achieve desired products take-up in the market through attractive packaging, pricing and positioning.
- Quarterly review of products performance to identify requirements for enhancements, retirement or replacement.
- Ensure high levels of quality and customer experience in launched products and improve on existing products to ensure reduced calls to the call center.
- Employ business analytics insights to identify opportunities to increase usage among existing M-PESA customers.
- Deliver forecasted revenue targets and growth in distinct usage of existing M-PESA VAS services.
- Drive the positioning of M-PESA VAS within the market place through PR.
- Carry out segment specific loyalty initiatives amongst existing M-PESA customers.
- Consistently identify M-PESA knowledge gaps among subscribers & develop customer education initiatives to address these gaps.
- Provide weekly progress reports, weekly reports and ad hock reports to Management.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university preferably in Marketing and Sales.
- 4-6 years post-graduation work experience of which 1-2 years must be in a management role.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Experience in projects management. Certification by CIM will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with good listening and critical reasoning skills.
- Good understanding of financial principles, financial ratios, interpretation of standard financial statements.
- Good understanding of the Kenyan market, subscriber preferences and subscriber trends.
- Proactive, confident, energetic with the ability to work under pressure, tight schedules/deadlines and monitor and follow up on all actions taken.
- A highly motivated person with a positive attitude towards work, innovative, creative, results oriented with excellent analytical skills.
