private sector, national agricultural research and extension systems,
Universities, International Agricultural Research Systems and other
stakeholders to implement research and training programs to enhance

To support its projects IFDC needs to fill the following vacancy tenable in Nairobi:
Manager of Procurement and Logistics
Specific Responsibilities:
- This position has the entire responsibility of procurement and protocol duties.
- S/he will manage the entire process for locals and International purchases.
- Implement internal controls and procedures designed to ensure strict compliance with the IFDC procurement guidelines.
- Coordinate and manage the operations of the Procurement Committees and lead the negotiation process for all major purchases.
- Initiate and handle all insurance claims against the carrier or otherwise for purchases, damaged or lost, and the processing of all related documents until final settlement.
- Manage all aspects of vehicle acquisition and management,
- Actively support the protocol function, including preparing applications for work permits and diplomat Identity Cards for expatriate staff and their dependents, and follow up with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for approval;
- Administer diplomatic privileges for both IFDC and eligible staff, including duty-free purchases, duty-free fuel at UN petrol station, VAT exemption certificates, acquisition and registration of vehicles
- Process visas for IFDC staff and visitors and make protocol arrangements for visits by high-profile IFDC staff / visitors on a need basis.
Key Competencies and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Procurement and Logistics
- 5 + years of experience in procurements and Logistics
- Strong computer skills with experience in MS office software and internet.
- Proficiency in English, both in verbal and written communication.
- Knowledge of GoK procedures for tax exemption on procurements
- Thorough knowledge of legal and commercial lingo in both local and international procurement
- Knowledge of French would be an asset.
