Our client, a leading engineering company involved in numerous infrastructure development projects in water & environment; buildings & industrial structures; power transmission projects and mining,
among other physical infrastructure installations, has contracted Parker Randall EA Ltd to oversee the recruitment of dynamic, experienced and self-motivated individuals with excellent leadership skills, who will form the core team that will deliver on their strategic intent and business in Africa.
Our client seeks to recruit qualified and experienced professionals who will add value to the firm to work on a key project based at the Bura Irrigation and Settlement Scheme for the following positions:
Human Resource OfficerPosition: 1
Location: Bura Irrigation and Settlement Scheme, Tana River CountyJob Purpose: Formulate and implement human resource management policies and procedures and give advice on labour laws implementation.
Key Responsibilities

  • Development of company Human Resources policies and Standard Operating Procedures and their implementation
  • Human Resources planning for the organization
  • Performance & Reward management of staff by conducting employee performance appraisals and processing for further action
  • Managing staff recruitment, selection, induction and separation
  • Identification of development and training needs of staff and coordinating relevant training and development programs
  • Maintenance and updating of a Human Resources Information System for all employee related data and activities
  • Addressing staff welfare issues including motivating and counseling of staff
  • Administration of the payroll and effecting statutory obligations e.g. NSSF, NHIF, PAYE
  • Management of the departmental staff and ensuring provision of effective and efficient administrative, travel and related services
  • Leave Administration
Key Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resource or any other management course.
  • Diploma in Human Resource will be an added advantage
  • 4 years relevant experience in similar position
  • Membership to IHRM or any other related professional body.
  • Key Skills and Competencies
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of labour laws.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer Literacy in computer packages
  • Excellent presentation skills, Accountability & Efficiency
  • Good organisational and supervisory skills.
