NATURE & SCOPE
The position reports to the Branch Administrator on all day to day operations, with dotted line reporting to the assigned Underwriter in Life Underwriting Department at the Home Office on
underwriting duties and to the Chief Accountant, Life on banking duties. The position mainly involves processing of premium, new business, claims and benefits. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing first-level underwriting of new life business applications within stipulated timelines;
- Verifying new sales data captured by Financial Advisors, identifying any possible errors/omissions and returning the same for correction;
- Scanning new business proposal forms and related documents into the DMS;
- Processing of claims & benefits in liaison with the Branch Administrator;
- Ensure proper, prompt and accurate premium processing, including check-offs, standing orders and cheques as well as maintenance of proper records of the same;
- Prompt preparation and submission of accurate (iGAS) premium reports;
- Liaising with the bank and check-off institutions to obtain details of unidentified payments within stipulated timelines;
- Suspense clearance within targets set by the Policy Administration Manager;
- Ensure prompt submission of payment instructions to various institutions and to Home Office e.g salary deduction & DDA forms, standing order forms for policy loan repayments;
- Following up unpaid remittances with various local check-off institutions
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dispatch of customer cheques at the branch where required;
- Handling customer queries accurately and promptly;
- Ensure prompt update of clients contacts at every customer touch point, including updating various records like the customer register, policy notes etc;
- Submit various reports as required to Home Office and Branch management within stipulated timelines;
- Ensure compliance with company procedures as stipulated in various procedure manuals;
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the Branch Administrator or company management from time to time

- Timeliness of premium posting
- Accuracy of premium records and posting
- Speed & accuracy of claims & benefits processed
- Speed of resolution of premium-related queries & complaints
- Speed & accuracy of verification of data captured
- Error rate of processing (relist percentage)
- Satisfied clients and staff
- Timely & accurate reports
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree in any discipline
- Pursuit of professional Insurance qualifications
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Enumerate
- High level of integrity
- Attentive to detail
