Our Client, British-American Investments Company Limited (Britam) is a diversified financial services group, listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange with interests in Insurance, Asset
Management, Property and Banking.
The Company has offices in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, Mozambique and Malawi.
It is seeking to recruit a high calibre candidate to fill in the following position:
Human Resource Director
Reporting to the Group Managing Director, the job holder is responsible for effective and efficient management of the Human Resource function across the Group by focusing on talent management, reward management and organisation effectiveness.
The incumbent will take the responsibility for overall administration, coordination, evaluation and development of Britam employees.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Developing and executing the Group Human Resource strategy in line with Group strategic thrusts, including talent attraction and retention
- Overseeing the implementation of the Performance Management System
- Ensuring compliance with all the necessary regulations and legislations in the various jurisdictions where the Group operates
- Developing and monitoring adherence to group-wide human resource policies and procedures
- Managing the Group Human Resource team
- Developing and monitoring group-wide talent and succession management
- Proposing and overseeing Group Human Resource budget and headcount . Implementing the Group Compensation Strategy, covering salaries, bonuses, pensions, medical insurance and other staff benefits
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or Social Sciences. A Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Post-graduate diploma in Human Resource Management
- Experience in International Human Resource Practices
- A minimum of 8 years’ senior management experience in Human Resource
- Proven experience in implementation of Balanced Scorecard
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player
- Flexible, self-reliant and self-driven
