Accountant Job in Nairobi, Kenya

Our client, a Below-The-Line (BTL) marketing agency, with experience in delivering brand experiences is recruiting for an Accountant.The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and result oriented professional possessing integrity, good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, be a
self-starter, team player, have excellent IT, analytical and numerical skills as well as excellent commercial sense and interest in business.
Experience and knowledge of financial controls is required.Location: Nairobi
Start date: Immediate
Reporting to Managing Director
The prospective employee will be expected to fulfill the following responsibilities:
  • Cash flow management
  • Credit management
  • Costing
  • Financial performance to set targets
  • Reporting internally and to the board
  • Managing financial partners
  • Coordinating internal and external audits
  • Budgeting and its control: preparing business plans, budget and variance analysis
  • Financial forecasting
  • Preparing monthly management accounts (balance sheet, profit and loss account and other reports)
  • Documenting and substantiating all financial transactions by providing supporting schedules
  • Preparing and maintaining accounting ledgers (creditors, debtors, petty cash, expense etc) and preparing monthly financial reconciliations
  • Preparing and maintaining a current record of all assets and liabilities
  • Preparing and administering payroll and all related expenses
  • Preparing and submitting statutory payments and ensuring compliance with all taxation legislation
  • Maintaining and improving accounting and financial controls by implementing policies and procedures.
  • Risk analysis and mitigation
The Successful Candidate MUST meet the following Requirements:
  • CPA K minimum CPA finalist
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3-4 years’ experience with an SME
  • Experience with Quickbooks
