USAID Transition Initiatives for Stabilization (TIS) Program: The Transition Initiatives for Stabilization (TIS) program is funded by USAID and responds to the complex crisis that has evolved in Somalia.
The overall program goal is to mitigate conflict; to promote stability and community cohesion, and to strengthen citizens’ relationships with government officials.
TIS implements quick impact activities linked to longer-term stabilization goals.
The TIS program is currently seeking a skilled, diplomatic, effective, and highly motivated Grants Assistant to join our Nairobi based grants team.
Grant Assistant Qualifications:
University degree in Political Science, International Relations, International Development or relevant field.
One to two years of progressively responsible professional experience required.
Experience working with USAID or an international donor is required.
Experience in program management, reporting; auditing and/or budgeting required.
Must be detail-oriented, proactive, and a problem solver
Must be flexible, willing to perform assigned and additional duties and work irregular hours under unpredictable conditions.
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to manage a diverse range of professional relationships is essential.
Able to multitasks and prioritize heavy workload
Fluency in written and spoken English required
Fluency in Somali language required.
Interest and availability to travel throughout Somalia.
