The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) is a State Corporation established under the National Treasury pursuant to the Unclaimed Financial Assets Act No. 40 of 2011.
The primary mandate of the Authority is to obtain unclaimed financial assets from the holders of such assets on behalf of the Government, safeguard and re-unite the assets with their rightful owners.
UFAA invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions:
Senior Auditor, Unclaimed Financial Assets (Claims)
Job Ref: UFAA/03/2015
Job Profile: Reporting to the Manager, Unclaimed Financial Assets, the Senior Auditor (Claims), will be responsible for facilitating the return of unclaimed financial assets to the rightful owners as may be surrendered to the Authority by the holders.
Specifically, he/she will be:-
Coordinating activities of the unclaimed financial assets claims office
Coordinating search for owners of unclaimed financial assets, or of deceased individuals leaving no known heirs
Providing appropriate information to claimants on assets held by the Authority
Receiving and directing processing of claims, according to results of investigation or other evidence of ownership
Preparing unclaimed financial assets claims annual reports
Supervising, mentoring, and developing staff under him/her.
Person Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Auditing from a university recognized by the Commission of University Education
At least 4 years of Financial auditing
Unclaimed property Knowledge/experience with auditing, compliance, process reviews or development of claims policies and procedures will be an added advantage.
CPA(K);
Ability to develop business and foster client relationships
Excellent writing, communication, and research skills
Membership to a relevant professional body
Senior Auditor, Unclaimed Financial Asset (Holder)
Job Ref: UFAA/04/2015
Job Profile: Reporting to the Manager, Unclaimed Financial Assets, the Senior Auditor (Holder), will be responsible for protecting the interests and property rights of the beneficiary unclaimed financial assets.
He/she will promote and strengthen the unclaimed financial assets administration in order to enhance the return of such unclaimed financial assets to the rightful owners and provide a forum for the open exchange of information.
Specifically, s/he will be:-
Assisting holders of unclaimed financial assets with matters including compliance, annual reporting, developing policies and procedures, and consulting,
Auditing holders of unclaimed financial assets, which includes discussion with holders auditors and reviewing their requests and assessments.
Reviewing unclaimed financial asset compliance processes for holders.
Assisting audit teams with review and analysis of unclaimed financial assets
Researching and drafting technical memoranda regarding unclaimed assets compliance rules
Advising the holders of unclaimed financial assets on the processes to be followed in making deposits into the Trust Fund and arranging for auctions, depending upon nature of the unclaimed financial asset.
Receiving and the holders’ information submitted to the Authority,
Managing unclaimed financial assets submitted to the Authority.
Ensuring qualifying holders of unclaimed financial assets surrender them to the Authority
Assuming custody, rights of unclaimed financial assets holder
Assisting with identifying categories of potential unclaimed financial assets and the potential holders.
Assisting with Formulation and implementation of unclaimed financial assets policies and procedures.
Preparing unclaimed financial assets periodic and annual reports
Supervising, mentoring, and developing staff under him/her.
Person Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Auditing from a university recognized by the Commission of University Education
At least 4 years of experience in financial audit
Knowledge of unclaimed property, experience with audit, insurance, compliance, process reviews, development of custody policies and procedures will be an added advantage
CPA(K);
Ability to develop business and foster client relationships
Excellent communication skills
Membership to a relevant professional body

Successful candidates for the above positions will be offered a competitive remuneration package.
Appointments will be on permanent terms subject to satisfactory performance.
