HOUSING FINANCE JOBS IN KENYA:CREDIT ANALYST

Your role will be to appraise all credit applications by ensuring only viable applications are recommended for approval in line with the Lending policy. Among your key objectives will be;
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES;
? Analysis of credit applications from retail & corporate banking to ensure proper financing structures, product programs, credit policy and other requirements are observed and put in place.
? To ensure effective appraisal of loan proposals in adherence to the Lending policy and in support of
growth of a quality loan book.
? To ensure prompt response on mortgage & credit applications to facilitate decision making by adhering to the set turnaround times for credit analysis.
? Preparation of the Loan approval memo/template to the Credit Approvers for approval and adoption or decline.
? Updating and production of reports for monitoring and control to meet the expected turnaround times.
? To advise the Business Development teams on packaging of credit proposals
? Train Divisional credit & sales staff on credit analysis procedures
? Ensuring compliance with Bank Loan policies and Government regulations with      recommendations of any policy reviews to the relevant Bank's approving authority.
? Credit risk analysis of the Banks' credit proposals from various market sectors and presentation to the relevant credit approvers for a decision.
? Researching and preparation of report on key economic indicators, other risk factors affecting bank's lending sectors and presentation of the report to the Early Watch/Alert Committee of the Bank.
? Make recommendations for credit policy review
? Preparation & presentation of departmental management reports, these include credit exceptions report among others.
? Monitoring irregularly overdrawn current accounts and recommending appropriate action.
? Provide timely and clear responses to the various business units as per the agreed SLAs
Monitoring & Controlling:  Daily updating of TAT
                                          Monthly reviews of updated TAT
                                          Bi-annual performance management contract review
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:  Relevant Business & Departmental Heads, Relationship Officers, Managers, BBM’s Legal, Customer Service, Project Risk, Valuation

EXPECTED MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Education:
A business related degree
                   
Experience:  Minimum 2 years in credit related environment (one year in Credit analysis and appraisal)
Technical and General Competencies:
Technical competencies:       IT Skills (Basic MS Office) and Financial Analysis
