This role reports to the Managing Director, KBL
Context/Scope:
EABL K is the largest business unit in EABL group and has operations in Kenya. It operates 2 subsidiaries with different ownership structures. Kenya Breweries Ltd, the beer business and UDV the spirits business.
Diageo PLC is the principal shareholder in EABL Group.
EABL K is an integrated beverage business with supply and demand for beer, spirits and soft drinks with a fast growing arm of international premium drinks business.
The KBL Finance Director will partner with EABL K business management and Group functions contributing to the development and achievement of Mission Goals. In addition the role holder will lead the finance team in their Business Partnering agenda and embedding BPM fully in the Business Unit. They will be accountable for ensuring the highest standards of compliance and governance in the Business.
Purpose of role:
Development & enablement of Business Strategy and finance functional strategies in partnership with MD, EABL K Executive team, GFD and CLT.
Maximise value creation and efficiency of sales & marketing programmes through effective decision support with Sales & Marketing teams.
Through challenge and effective decision support, ensure our Supply chain is efficient and delivers on our COGs agenda.
To ensure all financial controls are in place and lead the development & implementation of Governance for EABL K.
Ensure effective ways of working with between Supply and Demand to maximise value across the business.
Build effective relationships with customers/distributors to enhance the RTC in partnership with Sales teams.
Market Complexity:
EABL K operates within a complex and challenging environment with increasing levels of competition both in alcohol and from substitute consumer goods categories, as well as tightening legislation.
Top Accountabilities:
Development & enablement of Business Strategy in partnership with MD and Exec.
Development & enablement of finance functional strategies in partnership with GFD and CLT.
Development & enablement of business performance management & decision support.
To ensure all financial and CARM controls are in place and lead the development & implementation of Governance for EABL K.
Qualification & Experience:
1 st Degree in a business related field.
Qualified Accountant (CPA (K), ACCA, ACA, ACMA)
MBA degree
10-15 years business experience with at least 5 years at a senior level in a multinational corporate environment, with proven capabilities in the following areas:
FMCG industry and related business issues such as brand management or brand financial management, production, logistics.
Risk management techniques
Strategy development and execution
Business consulting
Information systems
Experience in multicultural.
