Farm Human Resource Manager
Reporting To: Farm Manager
Job Purpose: Manages the human resources functions in the farm, including development programs, benefit administration, contract compliance, salaried and Unionized payrolls, and office administration.Establishes and maintains satisfactory labor-management relations, interprets the collective bargaining agreement, administers grievance procedures, and assists in the preparation of contract negotiations and arbitration cases.
Develops and implements plant policies and procedures.
Ensures compliance with all applicable policies, rules, regulations and laws.Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees and provides guidance to staff to support the farm operations with labor relations, contract interpretation/administration, benefits, training/development, payroll processing, and administrative support.
Oversees workforce scheduling process.
Provides guidance and direction to management on labor and scheduling issues and disciplinary actions.
Recruits, conducts orientations and processes necessary paperwork for employees.
Partners with corporate HR team to process and manage all records associated with personnel changes and leaves management.
Coordinates with the Farms management to maintain and update Job Descriptions and KPI’s.
Representative for the farm staff disciplinary hearings, grievances, arbitrations and contract negotiations.
Ensures the plant is in compliance with the National Labor Relations Act. Investigates labor issues, determines and implements resolution. Investigates and prepares management’s position on grievances and arbitration; prepares and assists in the preparation and negotiation of the labor contract.
Directs management in the administration of discipline, promotions, transfers, terminations.
Investigates harassment issues, serious violations, and inappropriate conduct in the workplace.
Develops and implements agricultural and Farm policies, procedures and programs.
Manages the staffing and employment functions of the farm.
Posts, maintains and tracks leave management of the farm staff.
Qualifications
BA in Human Resource Management.
Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from a recognized professional institution.
Experience in an Agricultural farm is a MUST.
At least 3 years experience in an Agricultural farm.
At least 3 years experience in an Agricultural Union environment.
Must possess considerable knowledge of management-labor relations, and the principles, practices, and procedures of Human Resources Management.
Strong communication skills, problem solving skills, leadership skills, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
