Summary: Our client a 3 Star Hotel based in Nairobi is looking for a highly motivated and talented Sales and Marketing Manager to join their team and play a key role in Sales and Marketing as the organization grows.Job Purpose: To ensure the Sales and Marketing of the hotel services, as well as monitor competitor activities and come up with new ideas on how to increase Sales volumes.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the General Manager, the person will be tasked with the following:
Managing the sales and marketing costs; this will entail budgeting and budgetary control.
Manage the company’s external communication including electronic and social media communication.
Developing and executing sales and marketing plans and programs, both short and long term, to ensure profit growth and expansion of company products.
Researching, analyzing and monitoring market trends in order to gain competitive advantage.
Conducting market surveys on current and new product concepts in order to meet consumer expectations.
Conducting economic and commercial surveys to identify potential markets.
Monitor sales in the market and undertake market analysis to ensure targets and objectives are met.
Job Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years work experience in Hotel Sales
Preferably experience of a minimum 1 year with a 3/4 Star Hotel in Nairobi
Knowledge of local market and able to close a deal.
Leadership skills, whereas it is evident that you can effectively manage and motivate your clients to perform beyond expectations
Analytical skills so to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges
Business degree, or any relevant qualification, would be advantageous
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
Possession of excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Positive attitude and friendly outgoing personality
Skilled in use of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Spreadsheet and database, Outlook email system.
Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service and achieving results• Good organizational and planning skills
Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
Ability to work under pressure and under own initiative
Previous experience in sales role with the ability to close a sale and consistency in converting business
