Job Description:

ROLE:

To assist with the planning, executing and evaluating of project implementation(s) according to predetermined timelines and budgets. Ensuring quality control throughout project life cycles are central to this position.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

Manage project development according to the Project plan from initiation to closure

Be accountable for project results with project sponsor, track and report on milestones

Work with project sponsors and stakeholders to complete the project charter outlining the scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget and timing

Lead coach and motivate project team members on a proactive basis.

Complete work breakdown structures to estimate effort required for each task

Provide a project schedule to identify when each task will be performed

Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders

Act as a mediator between stakeholders and team members

Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout the project lifecycle

Effectively manage the project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved with project change requests.

Determine how results will be measured and complete a post-project evaluation to determine how well results were achieved

Develop tools and best practices for project management and execution

Project Reporting

Ensure all project documents are templated for future use.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Demonstrated leadership managing people

Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities

Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills (in addition to English, French would be an advantage)

Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management and other departments

Ability to work in a busy demanding and often resource stretched environment.

Understanding of contractual environment and range of contracts from large to small single services contracts

Have strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with customer experience

Be familiar with statistical analysis and research methodologies, along with common computer programs.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:

University degree

Minimum 2-4 Years work experience in project/commercial management

PMI certification desirable

Familiarity with project management tools, Microsoft Project

A high energy individual

Demonstrates a determination to succeed

NATIONALITY: Kenyan

This position requires ability to travel frequently
