PROJECT MANAGER – KENYA
ROLE PURPOSE
Uk Hunger Aid Purpose: To work with others to overcome poverty and suffering.
TEAMS PURPOSE: To manage Uk Hunger Aid Project(s).
JOB PURPOSE: Manage and deliver projects to agreed scope, time, cost and quality.
REPORTING LINES
REPORTS TO: Portfolio ManagerDIRECT STAFF: Business and Systems Analysts, Functional Analysts, Service Delivery technical specialists/ developers (including contract staff/ supplier services) INDIRECT STAFF: Service Delivery technical specialists/ developers
BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY
- Manage budgets relating to the project(s):
- Establish the project capital and operational budget requirements for the project duration
- Define the financial and non-financial project benefits and justify the capital and operational investment in a clear manner
- Provide project capital and operational investment forecast on a monthly basis
- Provide Earned Value estimate for the project
- Present recommendation to proceed to next stage, stop project or suspend Review the project business case with Finance and ensure approval
- Ensure that allocated budget is effectively utilised and is receipted with less than 5% variance.
- Accountable for managing the procurement activities for the project in accordance with Legal and Purchasing policies.
- Determine and secure the project budget to deliver the benefits required.
- Ensure the projects capital investment profile is in line with forecast.
- Review and approve the deliverables and negotiate the costs for all work orders for professional services, software and hardware delivery from external suppliers. Plan and monitor the project
- Work with the Project Board to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project.
- Continually review capability of team and take the necessary measures to ensure a quality team is in place.
- Produce Project Initiation Document/Business Case.
- Be responsible for project administration.
- Identify and obtain any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project.
- Minimum qualification; Degree in Development studies or related fields.
- Experience in managing capital or operational budgets for small/medium projects
- Demonstrate a strong ability to build and maintain productive relationships with customers, subordinates, peers and senior management.
- Display effective people management skills
- Demand management, planning and prioritisation skills
- Communication and influencing for impact
- Presentation skills and ability to adapt to different audiences
