Job Description

Position Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for direct and indirect sales activities for the Financial Services channel and developing markets in Africa (Excluding South Africa). Working with regional internal and external associates to plan, develop relationships and value sell to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) and Casino operators.

The Sales Associate works as a dependant sales agent, meaning that they do not have the authority to form or conclude contracts on behalf of CPI, nor do they have the authority to negotiate details or elements of contracts. The Sales Associate operates under a strict set of guidelines on sales which includes pre-set guidelines on pricing. They must operate and comply with the Company policy and procedure with regard to sales and pricing.

Responsibilities:

Fluent in English and an African language – Essential
Development of new market opportunities within Africa (excluding South Africa):

- Focusing on expanding business

- Relationship development

- Identifying key and target accounts

- Developing sales and marketing campaigns

- Achieving sales and profit targets
Specifying and implementing appropriate routes to market
Executing sales strategy for the region and recommending appropriate marketing techniques
Allocating and managing fixed expense budget
Ensuring CPI compliance with territory regulations
Determining and negotiating appropriate pricing levels via distributors and direct with OEM’s
Operating within the constraints of CPI’s strict set of pre-set guidelines for pricing, determining and negotiating appropriate pricing levels via distributors and direct with OEM’s
Establishing networks in developing markets
Directly managing several distribution accounts
Maintaining and expanding existing customer base
Accountable for the management and delivery of GSV targets within the responsible territories.

- Developing sales/market analysis of key accounts

- Recommendation and achievements of Period Forecast
Responsible for keeping CPI informed of market trends and territory specific developments to maintain and expand CPI’s presence

- Providing detailed understanding of market developments, key account needs and dynamics to other functional members within CPI including Business Management Team, Senior Managers, Marketing, Engineering, Customer Service/Finance and HR
Customer management
Understanding market needs and driving customer-led product enhancements

- Provide customer use examples to engineering

- Drive resolution of customer satisfaction issues

- Performing product demos to customers

Staying informed of any competing products on the market

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or technical field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years sales and marketing experience required, with 2 years of sales management experience in Africa
  • Experience managing sales for financial institutions, knowledge of banking and financial industry required
  • Excellent oral, written and telephonic communication skills with the ability to conduct effective oral presentations
  • Proven ability to quickly build strong technical understanding of both CPI products and their applications
  • Ability to travel within the sales territories
  • Proven outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to interface with personnel from various departments and levels; ability to network with all levels and all functions within an account
  • Proven ability to work independently; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and strategic planning skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Ability to access information using automated systems (e.g. Windows based computer); experience with spreadsheets (Excel preferred) and word processing (Word preferred)
  • Ability to quickly analyse data/situations and draw relative conclusions to have positive effects on business in a complex environment; ability to make decisions to achieve desired results; ability to gather/interpret and use competitive information to the advantage of CPI
  • Ability to learn from successes and failures and put best practices into action, applying them throughout the organization
  • Technical knowledge of CPI products
  • Experience of SalesForce.com and SAP systems
