Job Description

The job holder is primarily responsible for the end-to-end design and deployment of processes supporting Retail Segment products and services in Africa. In the course of such design & deployment, the job holder is expected to play a key role in improving the processes, balancing customer experience, risk containment, frontline effectiveness & costs.

Key Roles & Responsibilities


Process design & deployment :
 Identify a list of activities that require processes to be designed or re-designed to support the Retail Segment in Africa on an end to end basis
 For the identified list of processes :
 Review current process
 Identify gaps – against desired / expected levels of customer experience, risk containment, frontline effectiveness & costs
 Design or redesign the process
 Socialize the process with all relevant stakeholders and obtain feedback and approval
 Roll out the redesigned process. This will cover, inter alia, training of the relevant teams in country, ensuring post implementation reviews are completed for the purpose of obtaining feedback on implementation, appropriate system development is rolled out to support the processes
 The above would be required to be completed for new products / new services and also for existing products and servicesOthers :

• Single point of contact and liaison between countries in Africa and Group Retail Segment on end to end roll out of new policies & procedures, or new systems that emanate from Group

• Single point of contact between countries in Africa and our colleagues in GTO (Operations & Systems) on system and process development Within the team, responsibilities on the above would be segregated based on products (for example, segregation between Retail & Wealth Management segments).

People and Talent :

 Imparting knowledge & experience on process design, development & system awareness to teams in country

• Developing local talent in Africa to handle process design on an end to end basis

Qualifications & Skills


• Knowledge of all banking products, branch banking, and operations and a working knowledge of technology, including core banking and interface systems.
• Experience in a process management / quality assurance / risk management / credit operations / credit product management / credit admin functions would be desirable.
• Good understanding of the end to end impact of processes, across customer experience, risk, frontline effectiveness & costs
• Incumbent should be a First Class Graduate/Post Graduate with 3 to 5 years of banking experience with experience in Branch/Investments/Operations.
• Good communication and inter-personal skills with ability to interact with internal customers across Africa.
• Willingness to work across time-zones of Africa
