Job Description
• To assist the CRES OR manager to ensure the operational risk policies and procedures and the Risk Management Framework is effectively embedded and communicated across the Region.
• To assist the CRES OR manager ensure risks relating to CRES Risk Control Areas, Safety & Security and Damage to Assets are being actively controlled across the region on an end to end basis.
• To challenge relevant activities where risks are not aligned with the control requirements or risk appetite.
• To assist the CRES OR manager ensure Control Reviews, Audits, Control Sample Tests (CSTs) and Self Assessments (KCSAs) are completed and are adequate and properly functioning whilst supporting the region.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
• Assist the CRES OR Manager to run the Business OR meetings (FORC) in accordance with the Terms of Reference (TOR)
• Assist the CRES OR Manager to ensure the CRES staff understand fully and accept their risk management responsibilities in relation to operational risk and that all 1st line are competent in their risk management duties
• Assist the CRES OR Manager to ensure risks are suitably identified, assessed, controlled or mitigated and residual risks are maintained within the risk appetite and the CRES Risk register for country is understood and maintained
• To assist the CRES OR Manager carry out 2nd line audits/assurance and control reviews and report findings
• Recommend changes to the control environment or function practices where necessary to reduce the level of operational risk exposure to within agreed appetite
• Assist the CRES OR Manager ensure that the KCSAs/ CSTs, Control Reviews, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) & Key Control Indicators (KCIs) are completed and effectively implemented to ensure audit readiness at all times.
Qualifications & Skills
• Operational risk management experience. Relevant experience within the banking or real estate industry
• Understanding of Operational Risk Management Framework
• Understanding of the risk technological infrastructure and applications used in the Bank including Phoenix and Optial
• An aptitude to acquire professional knowledge and educational accreditation in related fields
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and with a high degree of initiative
