Request for Proposals

Position: Grant Proposal Writer – Public Health

Type: Consultancy

Location of assignment: Nairobi

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Starting: As soon as possible

Background: Kenya NGO Alliance against Malaria (KeNAAM) is a network of non-state actors whose mission is to scale up effective malaria interventions and address related diseases and conditions among vulnerable communities in Kenya.

KeNAAM is a registered NGO that was founded in 2001, prompted by the realization that the fight against malaria requires concerted effort.

In 2013 KeNAAM expanded its mandate to incorporate malaria related issues; maternal, neonatal and child health, malaria advocacy, health sector policy development, knowledge management and community health systems strengthening.

Purpose: The main purpose of this assignment is for the consultant to work with KeNAAM to develop grant proposals to be submitted to anticipated requests for proposal/application from donors like UKAID, EU, USAID and others with reference to the KeNAAM Strategic Plan 2013-2017 focusing on Maternal New Born, Child Health, Policy advocacy and knowledge management, Health/Community System Strengthening.

Terms of Reference: The selected consultant / consultancy firms and KeNAAM will then work out a final Terms of Reference.

The agreed work plan and final Terms of Reference will then be incorporated in the Services Contract.

Submission of Proposals

The Technical Proposal shall be prepared in the following standard format detailed below:
Technical proposal cover letter.
Consultant / Consultancy firm’s references (see template below).
Comments and suggestions on the Terms of Reference and facilities to be provided by the KeNAAM.
Description of the methodology and work plan for performing the assignment.
Team composition and task assignments.
Format of curriculum vitae (CV) for proposed professional staff.
Any Appendices the Consultant deems necessary.

Consultants are advised to follow the above format for ease of evaluation of their Proposal.
