Rift Valley Railways Job Vacancy in Kenya : Commercial Manager – Sales

Title: Commercial Manager – Sales
Reports Directly To: General Manager
 
Reports Indirectly To: Finance Manager
Indirect Reports (Numbers): Customer Service Executive, Freight Coordinators

 
Purpose: Take full responsibility for EARHL KPI’s to grow volumes / revenues,
customer management as well as the Company brand.

Key Duties/Responsibilities
  • Sales and marketing of the company’s services as per targets that will be agreed on with the General Manager;
  • Managing the existing clients relationship to ensure satisfaction and continued business;
  • Identifying new markets/business opportunities and developing these to ensure increased market share;
  • Developing annual Sales plans and strategies and analyzing performance reports to identify areas of improvement;
  • Gathering competitor and customer data through field sales activities in order to understand the local market trends and competitors activities;
  • Carrying out market and competitor intelligence activities and sharing of the information within the sales team to improve on our service offering and delivery to remain competitive in the market;
  • Support RVR Commercial department to meet the monthly NTK;
  • Facilitating communication between clients, finance and operations departments for seamless service delivery;
  • Marketing and Advertising EARHL to make it visible through media advertising, website development, corporate events among others;
  • Monthly comprehensive reporting to management to assist in decision making;
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
  • Degree in a relevant field
  • Training in Customs & KRA training and Knowledge in supply chain management will be an added advantage
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
  • At least four (4) years’ experience in a freight forwarding firm/ sea freight / transport
  • Experience in product/service marketing
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and keen listener.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Team Player
  • Computer literate
