To
better support growing customer needs in Africa in food and
beverage, energy, industrial and residential industries, Pentair is seeking to recruit a Service Technician to fill in this position in Nairobi branch.
The Service Technician will execute the service activities (diagnosis, cleaning, calibrating, repairs, etc.) for Pentair F&B components (Haffmans QC/Inline + Sudmo Components) according to the demands and agreements made by the Sales & Service team.

an outstanding level of expertise in our service delivery and competent
technical communicationPrincipal Accountabilities:
Answering technical questions from customers and sales people
- The Components Service Technician (CST) provide adequate answers (verbally or/and in writing) to technical questions from either external customers or Pentair sales people in the most efficient way.
Diagnosing components/equipment to be serviced and making recommendations for maintenance.
- The Components Service Technician is responsible to diagnose an instrument sent to Pentair Kenya Ltd. for repair, in order to identify the nature of the fault, the root cause analysis and provide recommendation on steps to be taken in order to solve the problem and prevent it to happen again.
Providing input for repair estimates
- The Component Service Technician is fully responsible for providing all the information needed in order to accurately process quotations for repairs.
Performing in-house repairs
- The Component Service Technician takes charge of in-house repairs to ensure that all the components are in good working condition.
Executing preventive maintenance at customers sites
- The Component Service Technician takes the lead in ensuring that preventive maintenance is well executed through proper calibration and cleaning.
Filling service report forms.
- The Component Service Technician is obligated to fill service report form to guarantee transparency and accountability.
Managing the installed base and keeping records of the repair.
- The Component Service Technician bears the responsibility of managing the installed base and keeping records of the repair done for easy reference.
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:
- Diploma certificate in engineering from a recognized polytechnic school.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical service (related) position.
- Good level of English in speaking and writing. French/Portugees would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong in analytical thinking and communication skills.
- Hardworking and high level of work ethics.
