Project Co-ordinator – Working with Faith Organisations to Safeguard African children in the West Midlands (Full-time)

This position is based in our London head office however the successful candidate will have background knowledge of the West Midlands Black Faith Based Sector.


AFRUCA (Africans Unite against Child Abuse) is the premier charity promoting the rights and welfare of African children in the UK.

This new position has been created within AFRUCA to enable us expand our growing work on community child protection to the West Midlands. The post holder will co-ordinate our range of activities to support black faith based organizations to become more “child protection compliant” and be safer places for children who attend.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will have strong knowledge and understanding of West Midland’s black faith based sector. Our ideal candidate will have minimum 3 years project management experience with good staff management and supervision skills.  They must have very good knowledge and understanding of cultural and religious practices that can impact on children. Our staff must be familiar with current UK legislation on children and possess very good written and presentation skills. Working out of our Head Office in London, they must be willing and able to travel across the West Midlands for weekend project activities. Time off in lieu will be provided.
