Job Description for Energy Engineer
- Conduct jobsite observations, field inspections, or sub-metering to collect data for energy conservation analyses.
- Make recommendations regarding energy conservation measures after an energy audit
- Prepare project reports and other program or technical documentation.
- Train personnel or clients on topics such as energy management.
- Carrying out site inspections and energy surveys;
- Designing and selecting equipment for clients
- Using mathematical and computer models to carry out design and specification calculations;
- Carrying out lab experiments and adapting them to large-scale industrial processes;
- Preparing detailed schedules of work, feasibility studies and cost estimates;
- Negotiating service agreements and managing associated costs and revenues;
- Contributing to sustainable energy initiatives and researching new energy methods;
- Keeping up to date with legislation and environmental standards and making sure systems and processes comply;
- Monitoring new technologies or applications, and developing performance indicators;
- Developing technical expertise in all matters to do with energy.
- Working with online personell to fast track audit process
- Ensuring successful use of the energy portal to automate the audit process
- Work with implementation partners to ensure proper project implementation
- Ability to work with limited supervision and successfully within a team.
- Professional – maintain an image of professionalism, excellent service delivery and passion for excellence.
- Ability to resolve practical problems independently.
- Self-motivated and ability to consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Process Engineering
- Previous experience in energy auditing will be an added advantage
- In possession of a driving license
