Communications & Knowledge Management Internship Opportunity

Practical Action is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) that uses technology to challenge poverty in developing countries.

Through technology we enable poor communities to build on their skills and knowledge to produce sustainable and practical solutions – transforming their lives forever and protecting the world around them.
We are looking for an intern to join our communications & Knowledge Management team.
This intern should be prepared to work in a fast paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of communication in the development field
Duties:
- Assist in managing digital assets: update the shared database with multi-media communication material.
- Assist in managing the resource center assets: update the assets in the resource centre.
- Assist with the preparation and production of communication materials: collection of case studies, research, analysis, writing, editing, as well as design and layout.
- Update Practical Action social media pages on a regular basis with relevant material and messages.
- Event support: assist in supporting any events, outreach activities and campaigns.
- Collating media coverage and website statistics, assisting in analysis.
- Logistics: administrative support required for planning and execution of communication activities.
- A graduate in PR/Communications or a Diploma in PR/Mass Communication.
- You must have good writing skills, social medial proficiency, graphics and design skills.
- He/she must be very articulate in English and Kiswahili. Some experience in a communication department will be an added advantage.
