Position: Rehabilitation Trainer
Responsible to:- Training and Quality Assurance Supervisor
Location: Dadaab – Non family duty station

The Organization: Handicap International is an INGO specialising in the field of disability and
development.
A strong emphasis is placed on empowering people with disabilities through their integration into mainstream development activities and the provision of appropriate health and rehabilitation services to ensure equal opportunities for all.
The rehabilitation project in Dadaab aims to provide and secure tangible and measurable improvement of independency in activities of daily living and quality of life of refugees living with physical impairment or disability.
The Position: Under the supervision of the Training and Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Rehabilitation Trainer will be responsible to organize, develop and implement training sessions based on an existing training curriculum.
He/she will contribute in developing or adjusting training material lessons.
He/she will establish the conditions necessary for the trainees to succeed according to the existing curriculum and training plan.
S/he will be responsible for
1. Organizing, developing and implementing training lessons
Contributing to preparation and adapting the training lessons according to the trainee’s level by using appropriate pedagogical materials/approach. (e.g. illustrations, videos…) in line with the framework defined in the “Rehabilitation Worker” curriculum.
Designing and developing training manuals for the trainees according to the modules of the curriculum
2. Ensuring that the right conditions are established for success of the trainees and organizing regular trainees monitoring:
Developing approaches and tools for regular evaluation of the theoretical and practical training sessions and for individual monitoring.
Maintaining updated record of trainees’ results and process.
3. Contributing to the development of capitalization document on the training
Compiling and analyzing lesson learnt during the project and develop capitalization document on the training.
Compile and organize the training material in order to produce a training tool package for duplication.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Professional Skills
- Diploma in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy. (Degree will be an added advantage)
- 8 years experience working in physiotherapy or Occupational therapy
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience
- Knowledgeable on right based and client centered approaches, on International Classification of TOT certificate will be an added advantage
- Functioning and evidence-based practices.
- TOT certificate will be an added advantage
- Organizational skills
- Team player
- Working in semi autonomy
- Communication and animation
- Innovative and creative
- Problem solving
- Ability to adapt to challenging context
- Activity planning
- Networking skills
- Cross cutting skills
- English, Somali added advantage
- Computer: Internet, Power Point, photo editing, word and excel
