Job Title: Business Development Officer

Salary: 40K – 50K plus commissions

Our client is a leading sanitation-services provider who partners with NGOs and the private sector to enhance the quality of life.
They seek to hire a Business Development Officer who will be responsible for building, training and leading a sales team for the company.
The person will also be is accountable for achieving sales targets, as agreed upon with the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit and train sales people. Make hiring decisions and recommendations designed to enhance the sales effort.
• Develop strategies for penetrating the short term and long term rental markets in the Nairobi area.
• Make personal sales and, over time, hand off important accounts to sales team.
• Foster a culture of excellence among the sales staff with a focus on the three key differentiators enjoyed by the organization;
• Cleanliness of units and service oriented approach of team
• Profits support education of Kenya’s children
• Equipment is state of the art
• Support efforts to achieve the goal of becoming the number one provider of sanitation services in Nairobi.
• Manage budget for sales efforts.
• Liaise with other leaders to coordinate sales and marketing, pricing and operations

Skills and Qualifications Desired

• Bachelor’s Degree in sales / Marketing or a related field.
• At least 2 years experience with B2B sales in Nairobi
• Experience in leadership, must demonstrate capacity to build a team.
• Self-starter and interpersonally effective.
