Legal Officer Job in Kenya – National Council

The National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) is a State Corporation established in November, 2004 by an Act of Parliament (Persons with Disabilities Act 2003) with the mandate to formulate and implement policies that are geared towards mainstreaming persons with disabilities to the National economy.To achieve this mandate, the Board seeks to fill the following position which have fallen vacant:

Legal Officer
Grade: NCPD 6
1 PositionJob Summary: Reporting to the Senior Legal Officer, an officer at this level will be responsible for ensuring proactive and timely handling of all legal matters relating to the Council in a manner that facilitates effective operationalization of the Council’s functional strategy and objectives.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drawing all contracts, agreements, memoranda;
  • Protecting and registering Intellectual Property Rights for persons with disabilities;
  • Advising Persons with Disabilities on legal issues;
  • Representing persons with disabilities in court;
  • Preparing Legislation and Gazettement issues of the Council.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned
Job RequirementsThe successful candidate shall be a Kenyan citizen with:
  • Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB);
  • Diploma in Legal Studies (Kenya School of Law);
  • An advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
  • Member of the Law Society of Kenya
  • Holder of a current practicing certificate.
  • Computer Application skills.
Terms of service: Permanent & PensionableBasic Salary Ksh. 41,590 x 2,070 – 43,660 x 2,220 – 45,880 x 2,310 – 48,190 x 2,400 -50,590 x 2,550 – 53,140 x 2,700 – 55,840 p.m

Allowances
House Allowance- 20,000 /= p.m
Commuter Allowance – 8,000 /= p.m
