Job Title: Kenya Finance Manager

Location: Kisumu, Kenya
Reports to: Kenya Field Director
Background: GiveDirectly enables individual donors, foundations, and governments to provide direct cash transfers to the extreme poor on a global scale.
Our proprietary model re-engineers fieldwork for the digital era, allowing us to complete these transfers securely, efficiently and transparently.
Using the latest technology, including remote sensing, digital data collection and crowd-sourced monitoring, we locate recipients, integrate them into payment networks and monitor transactions end-to-end.

Overview: The Kenya Finance Manager (FM) will be tasked with executing and enforcing core finance protocols in Kenya.
The FM will support GiveDirectly to expand in size and scope while remaining fully compliant and maintaining the highest standard of professionalism.
The position will reward relentless organization, a strong attention to detail, and effective communication with staff.
The FM will report to the Field Director and work closely with the Office Manager.

Job Description:
- Finance
- Assisting with monthly bookkeeping requirements
- Implementing payment and procurement protocols, including ensuring proper documentation and adherence to controls
- Monitoring payroll processes
- Legal / Compliance
- Providing support on in-country audits
- Providing support on reporting to regulatory bodies (immigration, NGO board etc.)
- Enforcing reporting to sub-county government officials
Desired Qualifications:
- Degree and greater than 3 years of experience in relevant field
- Demonstrated track record managing similar responsibilities at a competitive organization
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Ability to approach tasks with resourcefulness and independence
- Candidates will be assessed on rolling basis
