Engineer Job in Kenya – Talinda East Africa

Talinda East Africa is a Telecom / IT system integrator and reseller focusing on Wireless Networks, Voice Systems, IP-TV and Advanced Computing.

Job Purpose: We are seeking to recruit a dynamic person to fill the position of an engineer to handle project design, implementation and support requests.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Designing, Implementation and testing the deployed system.
  • Maintaining support and training users.
  • Ensure continuous delivery of ICT services through executing roles execcently and monitoring the performance.
  • Ensure that all network links are up and running in all locations.
  • Ensure that all IT devices and system are running all the time.
  • Ensure 98.99% uptime for the deployed systems.
  • Performing regular updates and maintenance activities to clients systems
  • Assisting in preparation of systems documentation, configurations and technical processes.
  • Diagnosing and/or clarifying and/or resolving support requests.
Education and Qualification – Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication & Information Engineering, computer science or any related fields from a recognized institution.
  • Experience:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Have knowledge in all protocols (TCP/IP), file and print sharing, and all network topologies.
  • Must possess knowledge of system configuration and installation
  • Must possess knowledge in all hardware and software maintenance.
  • Must be a CNNA certified and most preferable CCNP certified.
  • Experience in routing and switching or have been in an environment that involved routing and switching.

  • Must be cool and patient
  • Must possess a strong technical background.
  • Must be a good team player, interpersonal skills and demonstrate commitment to all duties
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and independently prioritize duties.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare and present concise oral and written reports;
  • Be a person of high integrity and ethical conduct;
  • Have strong leadership skills;
  • Have the ability to work under minimal supervision;
  • Must possess an ability to learn very fast.
