Duties and responsibilities
- Development and implementation of Acre Africa’s strategy in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Leadership of the company’s team in Kenya and beyond
- Creation of business systems and SOP’s
- Financial management, compliance and communication
- The CEO will also oversee development and implementation of further innovative agricultural micro-insurance products, as well as building sustainable relationships with insurers, reinsurance, Agri-sector partners, regulators, donors and investors
- Provides general oversight of all company activities manages the day-to-day operations and assures a smoothly functioning, efficient organization.
- Helps the Board shape company’s values, mission, vision, and short/long term goals.
- Assures program/service quality and organization stability through the development and implementation of standards and controls, systems and procedures and regular evaluation.
- Steers the organization towards profitable growth.
- Motivates and builds the capacity of the senior team to attain Company goals
- Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations.
- Deepen and refine all aspects of communication from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger international brand.
- PR participation, global conferences, presentations & thought leadership
- Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.

- Proven ability to shape and implement a clear business strategy
- Prior experience in managing and motivating a diverse group of employees across several countries
- Good communication skills, including writing and presentation ability, are essential
- Deep commitment to social change through innovative/impact business
- Demonstrated ability to grow a company beyond startup to operations phase
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of senior management experience
- Strong sales & marketing background – good speaker
- Good financial governance and planning skills
- Interest/ability to recognize client needs and drive product definition
- Advanced degree, ideally an MBA
- Experience in various African countries especially in East Africa a plus, but not mandatory
- Experience within the Insurance industry is a preferred
- Experience in Agri-business will be an added advantage
