The CRADLE is a non-governmental, non-partisan and not-for-profit organization committed to the promotion, protection and enhancement of the rights of the child through legal aid; legislative and policy advocacy; awareness creation; and research, monitoring and documentation of the rights of the child.The CRADLE is seeking for qualified and experienced personnel to fill the following positions:
Interns (3 Positions)i) Legal Intern
2 Positions
Responsibilities and tasks for Legal Intern
- Recording and filing clients statements
- Provision of legal advice to clients
- Drafting letters, legal opinions, pleadings and other legal documents
- Conducting fact-finding visits with the Legal officer
- Planning and co-coordinating training workshops, conferences, public debates and public forums
- Representation of The CRADLE in select trainings/conferences and networks in which The CRADLE is participating
- Preparing relevant reports and recording of minutes in respect of select workshops
- Development of write-ups for use in policy and legislative reform processes.
- Any other related duty that may be allocated by the Program Manager and/or Executive Director
- Have a law degree
- Have completed or waiting to start pupilage.
- Excellent IT user skills
- Be interested in working for and with children.
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
1 Position
Reports to: Program Manager – PLA
Responsibilities and tasks for Intern Research, Monitoring, Documentation and communication.
- Assisting in the running of the of the Research Monitoring and Documentation Program and Projects therein
- Effective, timely and efficient production of the organization’s publications.
- Building the profile of the organization as a centre of excellence in information based on child rights and juvenile justice
- Assisting in monitoring and evaluation of expenditure to ensure appropriateness and obtain required documentation
- Monitoring of case and media trends on daily basis
- Updating the case trends data base
- Minimum of a degree in Social Sciences or equivalent.
- Have a good understanding of child rights issues especially in Kenya.
- Excellent IT user skills.
- Good experience in Research and analytical skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
