Africa Harvest Biotech Foundation International (AHBFI or Africa Harvest) is an International Agricultural Technology Development and Dissemination Foundation incorporated in the USA as a
non-profit organization.
It has its headquarters in Kenya and operational regional offices in Johannesburg, South Africa, Toronto Canada and Washington D.C in the U.S.A.
The vision of Africa Harvest is ‘to be a lead contributor in making Africa free of hunger, poverty and malnutrition’ while the mission is ‘to apply innovative approaches to impact rural communities through sustainable agricultural development’.
The Foundation seeks to empower rural communities in Africa by providing appropriate technologies to boost their food production and income.Africa Harvest is seeking a motivated individual to fill the following position:

Communication Manager

Primary responsibilities: Reporting to the Director, Communication for Development & Knowledge Management, the Communication Manager will enhance Africa Harvest’s visibility while creating and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders to fostering understanding and adoption of agricultural innovations.Academic Qualifications: Degree in Communication, Journalism or Public Relations
Experience: 
  • At least5 years media, public relations or any other communication-related experience; at least one year should be in development communication
  • Key Competences:
  • Excellent working knowledge of African print, electronic and online media
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Leadership and management skills
