The United States International University – Africa is the largest, private, secular university in East and Central Africa catering to over 5600 students representing 65 nationalities and with a global network of over 11,000 alumni.In line with USIU – Africa’s commitment to providing quality, affordable education through world-class service delivery platforms, USIU-Africa is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position(s).
Web & Graphic DesignerReporting to the Head of Marketing & Communications, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining and upgrading the University’s communication service platforms by using digital channels such as the web, social media, mobile platforms, and traditional medium to communicate and promote the university.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop campaigns and launch digital campaigns on various platforms and generate reports on the same.
Provide informed recommendations for design and layout, behavior and functionality of websites through best practices.
Create styles in content management system (CMS) and assist in administering users as needed, troubleshooting bug fixes and deploying builds.
Use responsive design techniques for web development across multiple platforms.
Able to edit videos for promotional campaigns.
Assist in monitoring website statistics, analyzing trends, and incorporating website design changes as needed by customers.
Create and produce effective technical and marketing sales graphics and other printed materials for the university.
Develop print projects with pre-press knowledge using Adobe InDesign and illustrator.
Collaborate with stakeholders for feedback on client’s needs and liaising regularly with them.
Creating compelling design concepts, artwork and layout for multi-channel and integrated marketing efforts.
Develop and design web-based and various visual communications using online marketing best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
An undergraduate degree in Information Systems & Technology, Applied Computer Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.
Working experience of both backend and front-end programming.

Able to tackle problems and tasks and proposing solutions.
Working with others in a team in meeting the set objectives and delivering results.
Working knowledge on Adobe products such as Photoshop and Illustrator are a must.
Working knowledge of both backend and front-end web programming, specifically HTML/HTML5/CSS/CSS3/JavaScript/MySQL/PHP.
A strong working experience of interaction design, user-centered experience design, brand development, digital marketing and the creative process.

Minimum years of experience
5 years and above relevant work experience with at least 3 years’ experience of building and managing websites within a content management system framework. How to Apply
