Job Description
The VP-Investment analyst position will participate in the broad spectrum of PFG’s range of activities, including:
Primary Funds: Creating and monitoring portfolios of private equity funds within multiple asset classes, including large and mid cap buyouts, growth equity, venture capital, and distressed investments
Secondary Fund: Providing liquidity solutions to private equity investors by acquiring seasoned private equity limited partnership interests
Private Debt: Building and monitoring a diversified portfolio of junior debt investments in transactions led by private equity sponsors
Co-Investment Fund: Building and monitoring a diversified portfolio of direct private equity investments by co-investing in private companies alongside premier financial sponsor
The responsibilities of the VP-Investment analyst include:
Market mapping and manager sourcing, especially across Sub-Saharan Africa
Maintain current data about Sub-Saharan Africa market opportunities and the PE industry
Support deal generation activities across primaries and secondaries, especially across Sub-Saharan Africa
Support portfolio construction planning for comingled products and separate accounts;
Conducting thorough due diligence
Analyzing and executing private equity and debt investments
Preparation of Investment Committee memoranda and presentations
Monitoring portfolio companies, evaluating transactions including business, industry and financial due diligence, modeling and valuation
Participate in marketing initiatives, fund raising efforts (research, presentations, talking points, etc) for commingled products and separate account mandates across the platform
Participate in preparing quarterly reporting packages for existing limited partners
Coordinating projects between deal team members across various geographies
Ability to use various analytical tools and external databases to research valuation and deal related data.

Desired Skills and Experience
The most suitable candidate for the VP-Investment Analyst position will have the following experience:
Exposure to private equity and/or private credit markets
Knowledge of, or a strong interest in, exploring the sub-Sahara Private Equity landscape
Strong experience with investment analysis
A strong background in finance, financial services,including experience in various types of asset valuation
The ability to build a diverse portfolio across the Africa region
Excellent written and oral English communication skills; further language skills are a strong plus
A track record of leadership and initiative
Strong team player characteristics
Ability to interact with stakeholders as various levels in order to develop new relationships and further strengthen current ones
Adapabilty to work in an enviroment that is multi disciplined and multi facited
The VP Investment Analyst will be have to be flexiable to travel to various African countries
Strong ability to work with existing or build new Excel based valuation models of transactions
An undergraduate degree, with a substantial focus on business administration, investment, or finance
Good experience using Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Bloomberg, and other financial databases
