Job Title: Transport and Logistics Supervisor

Department: Operations

Reports To: Head of OperationsJob Objective: Ensure delivery of products to the customer and the Institution in the most efficient, timely and cost effective manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Transport:
Direct all transport activities.
Develop transport relationships with suppliers and clients.
Monitor transport costs
Negotiate and bargain transportation prices
Deal with the effects of congestion
Confront climate change issues by implementing transport strategies and monitoring the Institution’s carbon footprint.

Logistics:

Plan routes and load schedules for multi-drop deliveries.
Book in deliveries and liaise with customers.
Allocate and record resources and movements on the transport planning system.
Ensure all partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
Communicate effectively with clients and respond to their requirements.
Book sub-contractors and ensure they deliver within agreed terms.
Skills and Competencies:
Possess good communication and analytical skills
A team player
Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
Problem solving skills
Experience in marketing and Business development in a clearing and forwarding company.
More than 5 year working experience in similar position
Excellent geographical knowledge.
Good people management and coordination skills.
Excellent financial acumen.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of the transportation industry.
Good intuition to make crucial judgment calls.
Computer Literacy
Education / Experience:
Diploma in Business administration – majoring in Procurement/Logistics.
Minimum of 5 years working experience
