Import and Export Officer
Ref No. 2015/HR/BGP-001

Reporting to the Imports and Exports Manager, the job holder will be responsible for liaising with overseas suppliers, clearing and forwarding agents and Kenya Revenue Authority to ensure proper documentation and legal requirements for all imports and exports are met.

Major Tasks of the Position

Process import and Export documents and follow up orders to ensure arrival at final destination.
Follow up on Import orders with suppliers and ensure that all shipping documents are received in full and in time.
Liaise with clearing and forwarding agents and ensure that goods are cleared into the country or shipped out of the country to the customer as required and that import / export procedures and customs regulations are followed.
Produce varied monthly reports for Imports/Exports for use by other relevant departments.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in business related field or equivalent.
A Diploma in Clearing, Warehousing and Freight Forwarding /Supply chain
Minimum 5 years’ experience in clearing and forwarding and imports and exports within a busy manufacturing sector.
